The Purpose

Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is a promising field emerging from computer science and programming. This field involves creating things that can think without any input. These objects are also called artificial intelligence. The term "Artificial Intelligence" was first coined by John McCarthy in one of his lectures way back in 1956. At that time, McCarthy could only dream of such a technology. Today, Mcarthy's dream of Artificial Intelligence is already a reality. We have already created artificial intelligence and integrated it into several aspects of our lives. Despite that, however, many people still do not understand what artificial intelligence is, how it works, and why we created it in the first place.

The Goal

AI: The Inner Workings is a website that aims to introduce people to artificial intelligence by:

  • Explain what artificial intelligence is in simple terms,
  • Explain the uses of AI,
  • Expound on the process of developing an AI, and
  • Clear up some misconceptions about artificial intelligence

Although this website will not encompass everything about AI, it should give you a basic understanding of AI. After reading through this website, you may proceed to the further reading section of the sources page to know more about AI.

The Strategy

First, you will learn about concepts related to artificial intelligence, such as intelligence, agents, environments, and the Turing Test. Then, you will learn about what AI is, along with its advantages and uses.

After that, you will play a fun minigame related to common myths about AI. Then you will witness the creation of a simple AI, which involves machine learning algorithms, data preparation, and logic programming.

Finally, you will view a showcase of all the uses of AI in sectors such as gaming, natural language processing, and computer vision. You may also look through this website's sources page for further reading.
